- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)are shapes of hearts on a stone outside the doorway. It is said that the Danes built this Castle about three hundred years ago. It was only two-storey high with eight rooms in each storey. Fragments of the roof are buried under the grassy fields outside. There is also a circular ditch, and an outline of scanty trees to be seen. There is a great spring-well some distance away form it, and it is called "Connolly's Well".Afterwards, the house belonging to the Castle was given to Penders and they still have it, but they got a new house about a year ago,(Betty Carthy, Northbrook)
