- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The walls of this old ruin are still intact and even the wooden doors are well preserved. The room of course has fallen in and it is only within the last five years that the portion of the roof over the altar fell in. The altar steps are there, and crucifixes and crosses hang still on the walls. Over the side door is a circular flag inserted in the wall with an inscription, all round it but I don't know its meaning. I have asked three or four priests in my own time to translate it but I have got no satisfactory reply. Of course it is in Latin but has no date.
Outside is a carved stone - the Blessed Virgin and Child and it is considered beautiful, but it is now thrown against the hedge.
The church stands on farm of forty three Irish acres, once I suppose, the property of the community, but it fell into the hands of protestants generations back and was in such a way till my brother purchased it some twenty five years ago from the then owner Mr. Tom Taylor of Ballinamore Br. - a protestant.
