- Festival Customs
In the olden times the people had many old customs. On the eve of St. Brigid they would make a cross of straw and hang it up over the door. On May eve the people would go out in the fields and pull flowers called primrose. They would come in when they would have a good bunch of them. Then they would divide the primroses into seven bunches and tie them on to a stick. Sometimes there is a May pole stuck down in a heap of manure and the flowers tied to it.
On St. Johns night there is a bonfire lit and a crowd of people gather around it and shout. The old people sing songs and the young people dance.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
