- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)field called “The Three Cornered Field” on account of three corners being on that field. “The Rusty Field” where the rushes were got long ago for making rush candles. “The Well Field”. In the three cornered field are two lone bushes.
Supplied and written by Tessie McLoughlin - We have 20 acres of land. We have a name on each field. “The new meadow”. We call the meadows “The big Brae”, “the Hollow” and “the Slang” and the “Big Meadow”. The names on the pasture fields are “Paddy’s curragh”, “Martin’s flat”, “Mollie’s garden”, “the big bush” “the bog boy”, “the big stone” and “the path field”. The meaning of the name Paddy’s curragh is there was an old man living there and from that time it is ever since called Paddy’s curragh. Supplied by Patrick Dolan, Greyfield
