- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)and he went on reading Mass. The soldiers passed very near but did not see him except one soldier who saw the priest but did not tell his companions.
The priest heard afterwards that the soldiers saw him, and he said it was impossible for him to see him unless he was baptised.

"Where a Priest hid himself"
During the penal days there was a priest that hid himself in a hole under the ground on the island of Inishmagrath. The island is in the north of Lough Allen, near where the Shannon enters the lake. A man the name of owen Wynne, who lived in the townland of Lower Annagh, used to bring food to him in the clouds of the night.
One night when he went with the food as usual he saw the whole island lighted up with beauthiful lights and when he reached the place he found the priest dead.- Faisnéiseoir
