The kind of seats the children had in the Hedge schools long ago were two big lumps of wood and a board from one piece of wood to the other and when the children were writing they had to put their books on the board and sit on one of the pieces of wood They had also big long stools. They had very few books long ago and the name of the books was Reading Made Easy. The sort of pens the children used were long quills(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
