- It is the custom in giving away the clothes of a person who has died that the person to get them should come and ask for them in the name of God. That the clothes be laid in a heap in the kitchen floor and that holy water be shaken on them. This is a very general custom in this locality. It is believed that some of all garments, shoes and stockings etc. be given in this way otherwise the dead person would need them.
It is a custom when any person dies not to buy black clothes if you have not already got them.
