He would then turn quickly but the strap was passed about and he could not find it. The strap sometimes had a buckle on it so that the man in the ring got severely punished sometimes. Should he succeed at last in getting the strap the person he found it with had to take his place in the ring.
   Another game played at wakes was called "Putting the boar to bed." To play this game a number of boys stood on the floor in the form of a circle. They all joined hands or sometimes one boy put his arms around the boys on each side of him. The next boy did likewise and so on their object being to prevent any one getting into the circle. Then a boy came running round the circle and another boy after him beating him with a strap. A certain places in the ring where he thought it was weak
