- 1) BIRDS AS WEATHER OMENS:-a) The Crane heads for the mountain when there are signs of good weather. When a storm is coming she stays around swamps and bog-holes.b) The starlings and crows flock together a day or two before a storm and fly low, in proximity to farm-houses. The crows appear to "tumble" before high wind.c) The drake usually heads the flock in good weather. When a change is coming he brings up the rear.d) Geese flutter and fly wildly about before squally weather.
