- All roads in this district have names of their own. There are many little roads branching from the main road to some houses in the country.
These little roads are called "boréens" by the old people. The road from Tarbert to Listowel is called the "Mail Road". It was made in the year 1803.
It was re-newed lately. In summer it is very much used when all the cars are going to Ballybunion. The road from Sallowglen to the "Mail Road" is called the "New Line". It was made in 1845. It is very much used road, especially by farmers drawing sand from Beale.
It is repaired very often by the Kerry County Council. There are six "boréens" branching from the "New Line". The longest of them is called the "Well Road" because there is a spring well at the side of the road. This road is leading(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
