Composition
November night is a great feast night in this country. The people play a lot of games on that night. My mother made a cake before our tea and she put a ring in it. Then we had our tea. After that we got a tub of water and put an apple into the water. We had great fun because some of the young men got their faces wet and their hair also. Then we got a card and tied it to the roof and tied and apple to the end of it. Then we tied all the peoples' hands in the house. Then they were all trying to catch the apple with their mouths and when they caught it, it would swing out of their mouths. The young people get cabbage and break it on the road and throw it at the doors. In olden times the people believed that all the fairies of Ireland were out on that night and that they destroyed all the blackberries. They also believed that the fairies of Leinster and Munster played(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
