In Gleannscoheen Mountain there is a large rectangular stone with the words "The Lord Be Praised" carved on it. The story told about it is as follows -
Many years ago, two mken from the Clahane district went out looking for sheep that went astray in the mountain. A mist came on them and after about a week they were starving. One man died of starvation and when the other man was dying he carved on a stone that was near by, the words "The Lord Be Praised", and ever since then, the stone is to be seen.
