- There are a great many weather signs. When we see soot falling, a circle around the moon, hens picking themselves, the clouds going from West to East, rain-bows in the mornings and the swallows flying low, we nearly always get rain. On the other hand we expect find weather, when the sky is red in the evenings, although sometimes this is a sign of wind. When the wind is from the East, and when the clouds are moving in the same direction as the sun.
