- The name of my townland is Drumbrackin. There are fourteen families in it. There are not many thatched houses in it the most of them are slated. There are three old pensioners living in it but they know no Irish. Houses were more common in former times than they are now but the ruins of some of them are to be seen yet. People often went to America from this district. It is all good land for growing crops. The name of the townland is in no song or saying. The land is hilly. There are no woods in it but there are rivers and streams. It is in the parish of Magheracloone. The Irish name of it is Drum-Bracháin. Therer are no lakes or boys in it. James McMahon is the oldest person.
