- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Henry Mooney Castlemarket Attanagh Co. Kilkenny are old too. There are two or three broken down houses in the townland. At present a lot of people are emigrating to England to seek employment. There are no hills in Castlemarket but there are hills around it. There is one stream running beside it which separates two counties Kilkenny and Leix. Its name being the Disheen so called because the English for it means scissors or shears.
- The townland where I live is Earlsgarden. It is situated in North Kilkenny and the Parish of Ballyragget. The lands in the townland are both boggy and sandy therefore the farmers often need rain. There are about six families in my townland. Fogartys Hacketts Mahers Kennedys Kennedys. About twenty seven people live there. There are no old people in my district.
