    Fairy Story.
Long ago a family named Mullen lived at Knockballyroney and there were four girls and three boys in this family. The girl concerned in this story was called Peg.
The grandfather clock struck six.The mother said to Peg that her father would soon be home and that there was no milk for the stirabout and to go and get the goat.Peg was angry but she got up and went to the door. She took an old brown shawl and put it on her.She went out of the house, down the boreen and across the heather to a gap where the goat was tethered to a thorn tree.
There was a heavy mist falling and it was getting dark. She pouted and ran on.She thought she heard the bleating of a goat and went towards the sound.Suddenly out of the mist she saw coming towards her a host of people and they singing and fiddling. One old woman with red hair said to Peg."Peg Mullen
