    The wild duck lays from six to twelve light green eggs. All birds sit on their eggs for about three weeks.
    We can sometimes judge the weather by the behaviour of the birds. When it is going to rain the upper air becomes cold and the flies come down where the air is warmer and the swallows follow them down. Therefore, we know it is going to rain when we see the swallows flying low.
    Another sign of rain is when we see the sparrows fluttering in the dust or when we hear the crows cawing unceasingly. When the curlew and the seagull are seen coming inland we know it is going to be stormy.
