A man named John Warracks (Warwick?) who lived in Ballyteague used to spin silk and sell it in the market in Robertstown. The field where he lived is still called "Warrack's field." Long ago people around here had to pay tithes to the Protestant Minister in Kilmeague, whose name was Preston. Bailiffs called tithe procters used to go around gathering the money.
