People used the nettle long ago in Ireland to cure diseases. In summer the nettle is mostly to be seen.
It cures people who have rash on any part of their body. When the nettle is pulled it is rubbed on the rash and it burns it.
Nettles are also good for the blood. First it is boiled, and the juice taken out of them. It is very bitter to drink, but when there is sugar in it, it is not so bad. Long ago nettles were used as vegetables just as we use cabbage nowadays.- Faisnéiseoir
