- A man once worked with a priest. One day the priest gave him a note to go to the public house for one pint of beer. Before the man entered the public house he put nought (0) after the one, and his note then read "ten pints of beer. Next day the priest notices that his man was unwell and he asked him what was the cause. The man did not answer so the priest went and asked the plublican how much drink he had given him. On hearing that he got ten pints as stated on his note the priest was very angry. On the priest's return home he asked his man what he did. The man stated that he put nought (o) after the one as he said he was always that nought (o) stood for nothing.
