In 1839 in the parish of The Rower there was a very big storm. It uprooted trees, and knocked down houses, and the people were forced to leave their houses. It was the worst storm the people of The Rower ever experienced, or heard of. On the 14th of January 1938 there was a big storm. It killed a man in Carlow. A tree fell on him. - In nineteen thirteen there was a severe snow-storm. It lasted three days and three nights. There were a lot of animals lost in the storm. It was four feet high, and where it drifted it was about ten feet high. The people had to ready the roads to get water. There were about twenty sheep lost(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
