  1. An onion is cut in two halves,and one half is rubbed on the chilblain before going to bed.The next morning, the other half is rubbed on it.The two rubbings were supposed to cure the chilblain.
    Another cure is to put ashes of tobacco on it once each morning, for nine mornings, and it is said to be better by then,
