  1. There are a lot of interesting stories told about the time of the Black + Tans.
    During the time of the Black and Tans black flour was commonly used in this country.
    In a house no far from Curreenturpane there was a bag of meal and flour saved up during [struck out and enclosed in parentheses: "the winter'] this time. When one night two soldiers came in and they tied the hands and feets of the man and woman that was in the house. They then carried away the flour and meal and whatever else they had in the had in the house. When these two men were going out the door they saw a small bag of Lourdes stones inside the couple These they took thinking it was money and brought them away.
