    The people in this locality long ago had many trades which we have none at the present day. One of those trades was basket-making which was one of the common trades among the people of this locality. The baskets were made from sallow rods twisted and plaited into the shape of a basket. My grandfather, Michael Moffit who is now dead used make baskets and cleeves for the local people. Tom Jennings of Meelick still makes baskets for the people of the surrounding villages. The making of crocks was a notable craft in this locality. It was carried on by a woman named Mrs. Clarke who lived in the village of Meelick. She used make the crocks from a special kind of clay obtained in Tom Loftus's field in Meelick. She first made a hole in the ground the
