The fire is another thing which tells us something about bad weather. When soot falls from the chimneys it is a warning that there will be rain before long. If smoke rises slowly it is a sign of rain and if there is a pale blue light in the fire, it also indicates the approach of rain. Old people often grumble about their corns and they say it is a sure sign of rain. All these things tell us something about approaching bad weather and the predictions merely always come true.
