One evening a man was out looking after his stock when he saw a stranger near the fort. He moved forward until he came in contact with the stranger and then he inquired his business there.
The stranger said he came from the North of Ireland, and that he heard from tradition that there was a five ton gate covered with a foot and a half of black clay the south side of the fort and as much gold under it as it would take five horses to draw. A serpent guarded this treasure. He observed it would be well worth getting but life was dearer that gold.
