- Long ago there lived a man named Sullivan about six miles to the west of Bantry. This man had a fairly large farm, he had no hay shed, and he used to make a rick of the hay in the field near the house.
One night a neighbouring farmer went to the field with his son, to steal a bundle of the hay. They went into the field, and the father went up on the rick, and he began throwing down the hay to the son. They then saw a man walking down the field towards them, and recognised him to be Sullivan's father, who had died about six months previously.
He walked down beyond them and stood by the gate leading to the field. The man came down off the rick, and tied the hay in a rope,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
