- About 100 years ago hurling was a very popular game here in Ireland.
Cloghan and Cloonacklegg Corrocot and Cloonloughlin were the teams who played. Twenty one was the number of men on each side. The contestes of the Parish were played on Cloghan Lough. It was between the townlands. Cloonloughin won, owing to having a famous little man. Padnes [?] Kelly was his name. Everytime he got the ball, no player would rick his life to go near him.
They were dressed in corduroy breeches and long stockings and low shoes.
The ball was made of corks bound together and tied with woollen thread and covered with horse skin. Goal posts were not used but whatever team crossed the boundary of the(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
