- When the lights of the city of Cork are seen reflecting on the clouds on a clear night we are supposed to have a spell of broken weather, also when we see the reflection of the light houses in Queenstown and the ships coming into the harbour.
There is a river adjacent to our house and when this is heard rippling loudly we always get frosty hard weather. When the sun sets behind a cloud or sets pale without shining out strongly it is a sure sign of rain. If there was a reddening sun in the east at sunrise it is a bad sign of the day.
