    Kilmacaber Graveyard, but his wish was not granted for he was buried in Bandon with a few of his comrades. The day after his death a man by the name of Jim Murphy was working in a field in the Townland of Cnoc Mór. He heard the rattling of cars in the distance. The sounds came nearer and nearer and then he heard wailing and lamentations and he knew it was a funeral; and then he saw it approaching and turning round he hurried homewards thinking it was not right to leave a funeral pass without joining it. As he hurried he heard the crowd wailing for Jeremiah Leary. He put on his new clothes and rushed to overtake the funeral. No matter how fast he went he could not come up with it. When he reached Corran, he caught sight of the funeral in the distance and then he went quicker. He met a neighbour on the road, who asked him where was he going. He replied say that he could not remain talking long for he wanted to overtake the funeral. In great surprise the neighbour asked him what funeral was it and he said it was Jeremiah Leary's. The neighbour said he was working on the road since morning and that he saw no funeral. But Jim hastened on his way and the neighbour stared after him thinking that he had gone mad he called
