Nobody else could see the priest. Eventually a messenger galloped out from the town and to the waiting congregation he announced "Father Taylor was found dead in his bed this morning.
The boy who reported having seen the apparition was flogged severely by his teacher who taught school in the Chapel, but notwithstanding the punishment the boy persisted in saying that he had seen Fr Taylor saying Mass.
The people remarked that on the previous Sunday Fr Taylor spoke of saying Mass on this morning.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
