- A gentleman in this locality once employed three men to do a certain job of work.
Four shillings was the pay decided on for the work.
One of the workmen was a fool, and of course was not supposed to be as good a workman as the others, so that at the end of the day, when the gentleman handed the money over, the two clever fellows, as they thought of themselves, started to argue as to what should be the rightful share of the fool - the employer listening on.
Judge the latter's surprise when the simpleton asked for the four shillings.
Receiving it he settled the question thus, "Here's two for ye two and here's two for me too".
The employer enjoyed the discomfiture of the others, needless to say, and having a pretty shrewd idea that the fool was not as foolish as he appeared to be, he decided to test him further.
Taking a sovereign, a halfcrown, and a shilling he asked the fool to take the coin he liked best.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
