    A family named O Connell who lived at Mushera Mtn are believed to have found a treasure of an outlaw or highwayman. They suddenly showed signs of great wealth, bought houses and farms in the Kanturk area in which their descendants live to the present day.
    A man named Mc Carthy who lived at Gortavehy Millstreet is supposed to have discovered hidden treasure while his workmen were replanting a fence. Having seen the glint of of gold he removed the workmen to another field and while they were engaged there, removed the treasure.
    A man within living memory dreamed of gold during three consecutive nights. He dug in the place indicated (the fort or rath at Lisnaboy, but after digging about six feet he got tired and desisted - the hole can still be seen.
