    it was a queer place for a foal to be. As they were nearing it the foal changed into a kid and as they came up to where it was it changed into a horse and when they were a pass it it changed into a sow pig. It made an attempt to go around them. Michael Connell had a penknife with a buckhorn handle in his pocket and he pulled it out and opened it. He then spoke to the sow and said "if you will venture any nearer I will bury this knife to the haft in you." It kept the same distance all time and it followed them to New Quarter bridge. When they crossed the bridge they looked back to see was the sow still coming but they only saw a a woman and she crying aloud and it was only then that the
