At last, her confessor said: "Go back to Ireland and labour there for the instruction and sanctification of the poor." After some hesitation Nano returned once more to the home of her childhood. In one of her letters to Miss Fitzsimmons, July 17th 1769 she mentions a little incident relative to her first attempts as school-mistress.
