Now the winter is all over
The cows are out in grass.
But we notice they are nervous
When the motor cars do pass,
They are not out of trouble
Although being finished with the fly.
For they imagine that the lorry
Should be coming from Fermoy.
III
Last week I had the inspector,
He looked over all their backs
He said to be careful about the larvae and the cracks
He said the backs are most important
And not to meddle with the sides,
And to put a stop to cruelty
And also save the hides.
IV
He said "It is not expensive,
Twenty-five cows for a bob
For you know we must do something,
For we want to hold the job,"
"Tis too soon it will be ended
I expect about July,
For it is costing thousands,
To get finished with the fly.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
