    of the Catholic Church, Carrigaline. It is a large, lime stone slab, fixed to the wall - L. 6ft. 2ins, B. 3ft 2 1/2ins. On it is the following inscription -
    Here lie the Remains of the Revd. JOHN CALLANAN. Parish priest of CARRIGALINE.
    While the purity of his morals the edification of his piety & the ardour of his zeal, endeared him to his own beloved Flock his Kind & benevolent dispositions towards those even of a different Religion from the Roman Catholic Faith, procured him their sincere esteem. to perpetuate his memory & his virtues.
    His grateful Parishioners have erected this monument.
    He departed this Life the 23rd of September 1809, of his Age the 54th & of his Incumbency the 23rd
    Requiescat in Pace.
