Ofter there were between one and two hundred pigs there. The buying and selling would start at daylight and a good pig would fetch about fifteen shillings.

   Fair day was not without its amusing side. Besides hawkers shouting their wares such as "Fongs" ( a lace made from leather) they had Punch and Judy shows and old men used to blow tin whistles and sing.

   There were music boxes, something representing the wireless of to-day. This consisted of a big box with several rubber tubes hanging from it. Every person had to pay a penny and by inserting a tube in each ear such tunes as "The boys of Wexford", "Who fears to speak of ninety-eight" could be heard.
