- The main road from Tipperary town to Mitchelstown was made as relief work during the Famine Period. The workers were paid at the rate of 4 D [?] per day. There are several old roads in the parish, one road ran through Lissard in the northern part of the parish - through Mr. O'Brien's farm by Mr. Maher's front door, by the hill of Castlecrea, into the village.Another old road leads from the main road in the townland of Garnaclea [?] to the village.
