    The tenants in his day here were paying heavy rack rents and many evictions took place in this parish. He always attended every eviction and tried to restrain the people. At one eviction which took place in Tineteriffe i.e. the eviction of Pat Laffan the people were very threatening and it was with difficulty he was able to restrain them. One of the bailiffs struck a simple boy and a woman Mrs. Ml. Laffan of Eyon struck the bailiff and knocked him unconscious. She was an aunt to Jack O'Grady the weight thrower to whom is erected a monument in Limk
