the Knocknagon people met and chatted and where Mat Donovan beat the big drum on Christmas morning grew near the cross at the junction of the Dualla and Cashel roads. It was opposite the school, near the gate going in to the school residence. It was removed when the school residence was built about 36 years ago.
The bog from which Billy Heffernan cut the turf was the bog between Mocklershill and Dualla. That road is still called the "Bog Road". There is no turf in it now.
The bog given to Billy Heffernan by Mr Lowe is Monameigh. Billy's portion belongs now to Mr Tierney and Billy is supposed to have made the main drain from it. This drain leads from a pond called Localín and is deep and wide. Localín was a flax-pond and at the brink there was a large flat stone used for beating the flax. This stone was removed some years ago by Mr Tiierney.
The stream which crosses the road at Barry's cottage (non bridged) is the stream oer which Billy Heffernan lifted so often Nora Lahy.
The road between Mocklershill and Coolmoyne was known as bothar-a-vogga.
