    About one mile from Trim situated on the banks of the Boyne is the Grey Friary. It was built the time of Cromwell. It was said that the priests were put there to put down slavery. They were first known as the White Friars.
    There are many [?] on it: The reason why it was built near the river was if the monks hearing Cromwell's soldiers coming they could sail up the river and escape.
