- At the present time the people get married in a different way from long ago. The time the people got married now is generally before Lent or Advent. They say June is the luckiest month of the year to get married. And Wednesday the luckiest day.
Monday for health
Tuesday for wealth
Wednesday the best day of all
Thursday for losses
Friday for crosses
Saturday no day at all.
Money is usually given to the bride as a dowry. Long ago the bride would get a cow a pig and hens and sometimes money.
Long ago the couple getting married would come in side cars to the chapel, as there were no cars at that time. The bride would come with her own people and go back with the bridegroom.
When they would get back, the reception was made in the house of the bride. All(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
