  1. In every district almost all the noticable features in the landscape are given names known to everyone in the district. Every hill, stream and field are given names which are recognised by the people when alluded to, but if these names were used in conversation with anyone not acquainted with the district he would be hard set to understand it. There is a field called the Rock Field It got its name because there is a rock in the middle of it. There is another field called the Wrestling Field. It got its name because long ago people used to come there every Sunday to wrestle. The Poll Mór is the name of a field and it got its name because there is a big hole in the corner of it. There is another field called James Poll Mór. It got its name because there is a big hole in it also.
