- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)the lid fixed on, the handle is kept turning until the churning is made, at intervals the lid is opened to let in air. When the churning is made the butter is taken out of the milk and put into a keelar which was scrubbed previously with boiling water. It is blended with a wooden article called a trencher, then it is washed and salted and made into rolls. Then the buttermilk is taken out of the churn and put in an earthenware crock and the churn is washed with boiling water.
