    Long ago the people in this district used to plough with wooden ploughs. They used to plough with cows and bullocks.
    They used to dig the ground with the ladbys. The were like a slane only it had no wing on it. The potatoes were sown with the ladbys.
    The potatoes were sown in ridges. The manure was put in and the clay was put on top of it.
    Then the potatoes were cut and they were called "skillets." There was a stick with a stirrup on it and it was skevin. Then a hole was made with the skevin for putting the potatoes into. There was a space
