- Long ago when people were ill they did not go to the doctor as they do nowadays, they made up different remedies of their own.
1. Bog Bain was used by people for purifying the blood - especially children. It grows along bog holes. It was pulled, put in a crock of clear water in which was place a lime-stone.
2. Dandelion was another of their cures - There are two kinds of dandelion - one with a broad leaf the other with a narrow one. The narrow one was best and when the dew was on the grass people went out and plucked it and ate it.
