    There occured another big frost in the latter end of November 1917. It lasted for a considerable time. People were able to cross the lake on the ice. The people believed that the rain which proceeded it occured as a result of the shaking of the clouds due to the cannons
    July 1910 - Rain. There was not a single cock of hay made up in the thirty two counties due to the continual rain. 29th August, however, came a good day and everything was saved afterwards.
    Droughts: 1877. - 3rd August to be the Day of the Races commemorating the birth of the Major (Dopping). There never came a wet day during the Summer up till 3rd august. The peoples could not get their dinner of potatoes up till that. The weather broke immediately after that & the potatoes swelled the clay up. It was the best year of potatoes ever known.
