    parish long ago. At the wakes long ago there would be a crowd of people playing games, sewing the big coat, they would have a piece of cloth, and they all sat round it, sewing it with bits of straws. When they would have it finished they would bring it home to the persons they were sewing it for. Another game was called slap-and-guess. They would put a man sitting on a stool, and put his hands on his eyes, and then the people would begin slapping him, and he would have to guess who it was that slapped him.
