“Long long ago there were no railways, no motor cars no buses no way of travelling but coaches.”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)in Mostrim where they exchanged their horses or very often there coaches when they were broken up.
The coach houses were from Joseph Flood's to John Conners. The arches are to be seen in some of the houses yet and at that time they were thatched houses. There were also men in charge of the horses and coaches and cleaning the horses and feeding them.
There was a man in Lacken named Dominick Keegan grand uncle of my aunt he used to drive a coach from Dublin to Sligo.
He kept a lot of homes of his own because very often he wanted a change on account of the speedy driving and the long journey.
